Buttery Cinnamon Maple Whipped Sweet Potatoes

This is a perfect holiday recipe. It’s easy to make and very flavorful. I know a lot of people do candied yams with marshmallows, but this is a tastier option. It has minimal ingredients and no refined sugars. The buttery flavor comes from ghee. Give your guests a little variety this season and make this dish.

Buttery Cinnamon Maple Whipped Sweet Potatoes

These potatoes are as good, if not better, than the traditional sweet potatoes topped with marshmallows. The bonus is these are Paleo and gluten-free!

Ingredients
  • 3 medium sweet potatoes
  • 3 T ghee
  • 3/4 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 T maple syrup

Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees and line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
  2. Lay the sweet potatoes on the sheet pan and drizzle with avocado oil. Rub the potatoes in the oil to completely cover them.
  3. Place in the oven and bake for 50-60 minutes. The potatoes should be easily pierced with a fork when they are done. Let them cool for a few minutes and then remove the skins. The skins should slide right off.
  4. Place the skinless potatoes in a medium bowl and add the ghee, sea salt, cinnamon, and maple syrup. Whip them with an electric hand mixer or in the bowl of a stand mixer. They should be smooth when they are fully whipped.
  5. Enjoy!
