DIY Chocolate Bar Fun

I’m not entirely sure this constitutes a recipe, but it is a fun, creative way to make a chocolate snack. This will be a great project if you have little ones in the house. There are infinite combinations, and little ones can get creative and make their own chocolate bar. I used a variety of toppings like nuts, dried fruit, and coconut flakes.

DIY Chocolate Bar Fun

These are fun chocolate bars that can be switched up depending on the ingredients you add to the top. They are Paleo and gluten-free.

Ingredients
  • rectangular silicone molds
  • 2 C chocolate chips of choice; I like HU Baking Gems
  • 1 T coconut oil
  • dried cherries
  • dried cranberries
  • freeze-dried strawberries
  • pecans
  • hazelnuts
  • pistachios
  • coconut flakes
  • fleur de sel sea salt

Instructions
  1. Using a double boiler, melt the chocolate chips and coconut oil. Whisk everything together until it’s fully combined. You can also microwave the chocolate chips and coconut oil in a glass bowl in 30-second increments, stirring in between, until chocolate is melted.
  2. Pour the melted chocolate into rectangular silicone molds. Make sure to distribute the chocolate evenly between rectangular sections, adding about 1/8-1/4 inch of melted chocolate.
  3. Top each bar with the desired topping and then place it in the refrigerator to set up. After the bars are solidified, pop them out of the silicone molds. Store in an air-tight container in the refrigerator.
