Savory Spiced Mixed Nuts

Nuts can be an excellent grab-and-go snack option. I have a sweet nut recipe on the blog that I love, but I wanted to offer a savory option as well. These nuts are Whole30 compliant. They are super easy to make and can be stored in an air-tight jar for weeks if you can make them last that long.

Ingredients
  • 1 1/3 C raw pecans
  • 1 1/3 C raw cashews
  • 1 1/3 C raw walnuts
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 egg white
  • 2 tsp water
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 250 degrees and line a sheet pan with parchment paper. You may need two sheet pans, depending on the size you have available.
  2. In a small bowl mix together the salt, cinnamon, cumin, turmeric, garlic, and ginger. Set the bowl aside.
  3. In a large bowl whisk the egg white, water, and vanilla until it’s frothy. This takes about 2-3 minutes. Toss in the pecans, cashews, and walnuts and stir until the nuts are fully coated. Sprinkle in the spice mixture and continue stirring until everything is fully and evenly coated.
  4. Spread the nuts on the parchment-lined sheet pans in a single layer. Place the pans in the oven and bake for 45-50 minutes. The nuts will be lightly toasted and crunchy when done.
